Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Rassberry (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes personal data when you use our mobile application, related online services, and this website (together, the “Services”). We are committed to transparency and to respecting your privacy rights, including under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) where applicable.
1. Who is responsible?
The data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Services is the legal entity operating Rassberry. Until published on this page, you may obtain the registered name and postal address by emailing privacy@rassberry.eu. (If you operate Rassberry as a sole trader or company, add your legal name and address here when you deploy this page.)
2. Who this applies to
The Services are intended for individuals aged 18 or older only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Our published standards for preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in connection with the Services are on a separate page: Child safety standards.
3. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may process:
- Account & authentication data: email address, phone number (for verification), authentication identifiers, security-related logs, and similar data required to create and secure your account.
- Profile & content: profile text, photos and other media you upload, preferences you set, and interactions you choose to share in the app (e.g. messages you send, subject to our retention and safety policies).
- Location data: where you allow it, approximate or precise location to show nearby people, venues, or events, and to power features that depend on place. You can withdraw location permission in your device settings; some features may then be limited.
- Device & technical data: device type, operating system, app version, language, IP address, diagnostic and crash data, and similar technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
- Usage data: in-app activity needed to provide features (e.g. favourites, event RSVPs, chat delivery), abuse prevention, and product improvement, consistent with our ethical design principles.
- Purchase data: subscription status and transaction identifiers as provided by Apple App Store or Google Play; payment card data is processed by the platform, not stored by us.
- Communications with us: messages you send to support or privacy inboxes.
- Website visitors: basic server logs and, if used, analytics cookies or similar technologies as described in any cookie notice we publish.
4. How we use your data (purposes)
We use personal data to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
- Create and authenticate accounts, and prevent fraud and abuse;
- Deliver features you request (profiles, chat, venues, events, notifications where enabled);
- Enforce our Terms of Service, community standards, and legal obligations;
- Handle support requests and exercise your privacy rights;
- Comply with law, regulatory requests, and court orders where required;
- Analyse aggregated or de-identified usage to improve stability and user experience.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of:
- Contract — providing the Services you sign up for;
- Legitimate interests — security, anti-abuse, product improvement, and internal operations, balanced against your rights;
- Consent — where required (e.g. certain marketing communications or optional analytics, if offered);
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
6. Processors & sharing
We use trusted service providers (“processors”) who process data on our instructions. These typically include:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database, file storage, server-side logic, and related infrastructure;
- Apple & Google — app distribution and in-app purchases;
- Other providers we engage for hosting, email delivery, analytics, or customer support, as disclosed in-product or updated here when material.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or asset sale (with notice where required).
7. International transfers
Your data may be processed in the European Economic Area and/or other countries where our providers operate. Where GDPR applies and data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
8. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, and safety requirements. Message content and logs may be retained for limited periods for safety and dispute resolution, then deleted or anonymised according to internal policies. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal exceptions.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectify inaccurate data;
- Erase data (“right to be forgotten”) in certain cases;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Data portability where applicable;
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, contact privacy@rassberry.eu. You can delete your account and associated data from the app (Settings → Delete profile) and via our dedicated page: Delete your account & data.
10. Security
We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls and encryption in transit where supported. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
11. Third-party links
The Services may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice (e.g. in-app).
